Background

After about a year successfully testing the water while in full-time employment, I followed my dream of working in a freelance capacity and set up mellowdesign in 2003.

Since then the business has gone from strength to strength and I am still very much enjoying it. It was the the best decision I made.

I regularly take on new work as well as seeing past clients coming back with new projects. After a successful pitch in the autumn of 2006 I won my first complete rebranding commission, even beating an ex-Saatchi & Saatchi creative director!

I provide the experience, skills and reliability of an experienced designer, without the high cost of a design agency. I will interact as a member of your team, giving you that personal interaction with the designer, keeping you in the loop at all times as well as offering that caring personal touch that often makes a big difference.

Tuition work

As well as my graphic design, I am also a sessional lecturer and instructor in graphic communication and associated applications most recently at the Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT), and previously, the University College of Creative Arts, Farnham, Surrey.

I am also about to embark on a new role as Children's Workshop Leader for Top Dog Promotions, based in Buckinghamshire using my skills to teach basic desk top publishing as part of overall skills to kids who prefer to go a non acedemic route.

With regards to private tuition work, I will happily teach individuals or groups, students, the public and corporations, to enable understanding and practice of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

This year I am leading four painting weeks abroad for the Richmond Holiday Company. Please see my painting page for more information.
